Temperment can be inherited or gained through life experience. We like to start out our puppies with parents that have good, cheerful temperments. We like to amplify this by gentle, firm handling the puppies from birth until delivered to the new owner. Once the puppy leaves our kennel it is the new owner's responsibility to make sure the puppy isn't put in comprimising situations so it does not become an undesirable dog. We strongly recommend spending time with young pups and young dogs on a daily basis so they always know what is expected of them, resulting in a happy well adjusted dog. We also recommend exposing the new puppy to as many new people and situations as possible from as young an age as possible, discouraging early territorial protective behavior and praising gentle, kind behavior. Personal protection comes naturally to this breed and if overly praised and encouraged when exhibiting this behavior  pups may develop into a grown dog that is dangerous to handle. As we have no control as to what kind of environment the puppy is put in  after it leaves our premises we are not responsible for the attitudes a puppy may develop after it leaves our kennel.
